​Anton will be coordinating in conjunction with his peer Andy Wei. The gallery event will feature students’ works (Anton’s students from his art classes and any willing FBISD student that Andy can gather) and our own work at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. All works featured will have a set price listed and all proceeds will go toward a charitable cause promoting art education (ex: funds for school art supplies for less financially fortunate students). The gallery will consist of three stages: 1.) an opening 10 minute speech discussing our own experiences with art and how it enhanced our academics, a brief overview of some of the main ideas covered within our researches, and introduce the art students whose works will be featured at the event. 2.) The gallery itself which will last around four hours; audiences will tour around the gallery viewing the works with the option of purchasing them. 3.) The closing of the gallery when all buyers can return to pick up their purchases and settle their payments. Students will also have the option to pick up their work if unsold. The interactive element will be the process of us talking about the pieces throughout the four hour duration of the event and advertising them to audiences.
